Food assistance: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) / Food Assistance Program
Florida's name for SNAP, run by Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), Economic Self Sufficiency. If you are enrolled at least half-time, you need a student exemption to qualify, such as working 20 hours a week, work-study or caring for a young child. If you are enrolled less than half-time, the student rule does not apply and only the regular SNAP rules do. See every exemption →

Health coverage: Florida Medicaid
Florida has not adopted the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion, so coverage for adults without children is limited. A HealthCare.gov plan may be the better route; check the state's rules below. All your health coverage options →
Child care help: School Readiness Program

Parents must be working or in an educational activity, such as college or trade school, at least 20 hours a week (single parent). In two-parent families, one or both parents must work or attend school for a combined 40 hours a week. Family income must be at or below 55% of the state median income, and families pay a copayment.
