The details
Created by 2023 Senate Bill 153 (RSA 188-F:71-72, expanded in 2025 to public safety telecommunicators and dispatchers). Law enforcement officers, current full-time, part-time, on-call or volunteer firefighters and EMTs, and eligible public safety telecommunicators/dispatchers can take a course at any of NH's seven community colleges (including CCSNH online and short-term workforce training courses run directly by the colleges) and be reimbursed for tuition and fees after finishing with a C or better; the 2023 launch announcement says one course per semester. Firefighters may instead be reimbursed for certain approved NH Fire Academy costs. Employers certify eligibility. As of the 2026-27 year, CCSNH says funds are exhausted: it is no longer accepting new course registrations for reimbursement; students registered for a fall course as of September 11, 2026 remain eligible if they complete it with a C or better and apply at least 14 days before the course ends; no reimbursements will be available for Spring 2027; Fire Academy reimbursement requests after September 23, 2026 are not eligible.
