The details

Awarded to worthy, financially disadvantaged Virginia high school seniors (public, private or home school) to attend a Virginia public or private college, university, community college or technical school. In the most recent cycle each scholarship was $2,000 per year for four years, provided the student keeps meeting the requirements; SCHEV's table says about 5 scholars are selected. There's no minimum GPA, but it's competitive: recipients typically have above-average records and significant financial hardship. U.S. citizenship is not required. Selection runs through school, division, regional and VDOE/SCHEV review rounds.
