The details

Under Neb. Rev. Stat. 85-505, members of the Nebraska National Guard enrolled at a Nebraska public university, college or community college, or an accredited private nonprofit Nebraska college, get a credit of 100% of resident tuition for a diploma, certificate, associate or bachelor's program, or 50% for a graduate/professional program; at private colleges the credit is capped at what UNL would pay. Army Guard soldiers must use Federal Tuition Assistance first when available. Members agree to serve three more years in the Nebraska National Guard after the last course funded. The number of recipients per fiscal year is capped by statute, with priority to prior recipients.
