The details
Started with federal ESSER II relief money and continued in the State General Fund by AB 515 (2023) and later sessions. The Department of Education makes grants to approved educator preparation programs (EPPs); funds may be paid as clinical field experience stipends. Eligible candidates attend an approved Nevada EPP on a traditional licensure pathway (bachelor's or master's), are in their final clinical field experience, agree to teach full time in a Nevada public school for five consecutive years right after completing the program, and agree to complete an ESL or special education endorsement. Alternative-route (ARL) students are not eligible (they may apply for the Teach Nevada Scholarship). Example amount published by UNR for 2026-27: up to $4,800 each semester for the semester before student teaching and the student-teaching semester; amounts may differ by program.
