The details
Members in good standing of the active Nevada National Guard, including recruits, may register for state-supported credit courses toward an undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate without the registration fee. Laboratory fees for courses numbered below 300 are also waived, except per-semester fees (such as the Health Service fee), special course fees not for class supplies, class costs over $100, and technology fees. Fall and spring terms only; self-supporting courses (independent study, correspondence) excluded. Recipients are treated as Nevada residents for tuition. Must stay in good standing all semester and earn at least a 2.00 semester GPA, or repay that semester's waived fees. Recruits who don't enter full-time Guard duty within a year (through their own conduct) repay waived fees. A member who reenlists may, instead of using it personally, assign the waiver (one person per reenlistment) to a spouse (including a registered domestic partner) or child for undergraduate degree or certificate courses, or reassign it if the first assignee does not use it. Not valid for registration fees at the Boyd School of Law, the UNR and UNLV medical schools, or the UNLV dental school. The institution verifies membership with the Adjutant General.
