The details

TAP award prorated for part-time students by number of credits. Students take 3-11 credits per semester (or 4-8 per trimester/quarter) toward a degree at SUNY, CUNY, proprietary or independent degree-granting colleges and keep a cumulative C average. As of 2025-26, the former Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) program was consolidated into Part-Time TAP; awards are first calculated as a full-time TAP award and finalized on actual tuition and credits certified by the college.
