The details
Merit tuition waiver for seniors graduating from a Montana high school accredited by the Montana Board of Public Education. Waives tuition (not mandatory or class fees) at eligible campuses: UM Missoula, Missoula College, Bitterroot College, UM Western, Helena College, Montana Tech, Highlands College, MSU Bozeman, Gallatin College, MSU Billings, City College, MSU Northern, Great Falls College, Dawson CC, Flathead CC and Miles CC. Selection: applicants at each high school are ranked by GPA (top GPA = 30 points, next 29, and so on, down to 3.4), and the GPA points are added to the ACT or SAT score (SAT converted to ACT) to make a composite score; the highest composite scores statewide get offers. The Board of Regents intends to offer up to 200 scholarships a year, contingent on funding. Renewal for up to 8 semesters: start using it within 9 months of high school graduation, keep a 3.4 cumulative GPA, complete 30/60/90 credits after 2/4/6 semesters, stay full-time (12+ credits) every fall and spring, and follow the campus conduct code. Transferable between eligible campuses via the Award Montana portal. Cannot be stacked with another campus tuition waiver, but can be combined with the STEM/Healthcare Scholarship.
